Excursions
U3A undertakes several excursions each year to varied venues. All travelling is via a highly reputable bus company. We depart from the NG Skuilkrans which offers safe guarded parking.
These outings are planned for 2026:
- Four Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra [ JPO] morning concert-rehearsals at the Linder Auditorium
[March, June, August and November] - Two performances by Joburg Ballet [ July and October]
- Two or three visits to the Wits Digital Dome, previously the Johannesburg Planetarium
- A tour of the Nizamiye Mosque in Midrand with a talk on Turkish Islam
- A visit to the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre at de Wildt

Please remember to state your name and specify which excursion you are referring to when you pay bus fare by EFT or by direct deposit. Please note that you are committed to the payment of the bus fare of R150 per person, or to find a replacement unless you cancel before the payment date specified for the excursion. Refunds are not possible as U3A subsidises most journeys from general funds, and the size and cost of the bus, booked in advance, is dependent on the number of participants.
