Professor Bob Scholes works in the Wits School of Animal, Plant and Environmental sciences, and specialises in the African savannah environment. He is a world-renowned high profile scientist. We look forward to his views on this important subject.

Sean O’Beirne has addressed us previously on climate change, and earlier, on his experiences in Russia. This is a new talk from an entertaining speaker about a country where he spends much of his working life

Design with Nature – The Origins of Landscape Architecture

Neal Dunstan, who was Principal Landscape Architect at UP for some years, was inter alia responsible for the Rain Harvesting Garden on the campus, which is fully integrated into the architectural design of the Mining Engineering Study Centre. We look forward to hearing about this environmentally important subject.

Ahmed Bahn is the spokesperson for Gift of the Givers. He will give us insights into the way this amazing organisation helps people and countries in need.

Organist Isabelle in Concert

Isabelle van Rensburg is the resident organist at Skuilkrans NG Kerk. She is also a sought- after performer and teacher. We are indeed delighted that she will be entertaining us with a programme which she has titled ‘In Mystery and Wonder’ for our special “Joy in June” meeting.
